Salmon Burgers with Avocado and Honey Mustard


  • 1 1/4 lbs boneless skinless salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup red onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp prepared horseradish
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 brioche rolls, toasted
  • 4 leaves Boston lettuce
  • 4 red onion slices, 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 ripe Hass avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce (SJ5032HA)


  1. Place salmon in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Transfer to a large bowl.
  2. Add the minced onion, dill, honey, and horseradish to the salmon and mix.
  3. Form into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
  4. Heat the oil in a 12 inch skillet on medium heat until shimmering. Add the patties and cooked until browned, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook until the burgers are cooked through.
  5. Transfer to a paper towel lined tray and allow to rest for 2 minutes.
  6. Divide lettuce and onion between the 4 bottom buns and place a salmon patty on top of each.
  7. Spoon Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce (SJ5032HA) over them, then top with avocado and top bun. Serve immediately.
